Welcome to my Web site!

Every boy wants to race cars. We all play with toy cars and hold races on the floor with our favorites. I was no exception. I just never got, or took, the opportunity until 2 years ago. I am 55 years old and enjoying this boyhood fantasy.

I find dirt racing to be the most exciting challenge I've ever taken on. Also not being a motorhead when I was younger I am also learning a great deal about engines and suspension systems.

I grew up in the Detroit area and went to Michigan International speedway when it was brand new. And being from the Motor City I am very conscience of the foreign car invasion. I own all American   cars for the road.

I race a 1970 Chevelle with a 350 c.i.d. small block engine. We are limited to a 2bbl carb at Barona but we put my engine on the dyno after Greg Scott built it in December of 2004 and got 401 hp. at 5600 rpm.

2006 is going to be my 3rd full season at Barona and I have improved a great deal since my racing debut, but will continue to improve. My best finish was in the last race of last season when I finally took a checkered flag in the heat race.

We have made some suspension changes for this year and added crossover headers. I'm hoping the crossovers will help add some height to the mufflers since we are now required to have mufflers.

I only race my street stock at Barona, but I try to make the Bomber enduro at Manzanita Speedway In Phoenix twice a year. That's the race that got me started in the first place. They run the enduro at the beginning and the end of the season.

I did earn the name "K-rail" when I laid the car up on the wall in turn 2 in 2004. I was also the first guy to knock the caution light off the fence at the same time. My car was sideways with my right tire up on the fence, left side tires against the k-rail. I put my foot on the gas but couldn't drive off the wall for about 100' down the fence.(turning the car left was hard when the rims were laying sideways on the track.)

Once again in 2005 I took out a caution light when I "took the high bank" in turn 4. Last year was a rough year on the car mechanically. The radiator bracket broke and I lost a radiator, The right rear rotor broke off of the axle, and I lost the brakes, broke the left front spindle, and to top it all off, the frame broke over the rear axle! I drug it around the track on the white flag lap thinking the lack of control was a flat tire until I finished the race and the whole rear end came off! I drove to the pits (there was enough fuel in the carb and fuel line to get me there). Imagine my supprise when I jumped out of the car and saw the whole back end missing!
